personality ;;
Ches is funny as hell a majority of the time, but can also be a bit too serious about things. That’s more of just her ‘no bullshit’ attitude though, which is good to have at times. When you need her, she’s there for you and if you find yourself down and depressed, she’ll be there to comfort you and do whatever it takes to get you to smile again. She’s a friend anyone would be lucky to have. She’ll stand by your side through everything and you can’t really ever stay mad at her for anything long.
It can be a challenge getting close to her and getting to know her however as she struggles with some minor social anxieties. She also has some pretty severe trust issues, mainly caused by past relationships she’s been through. She’s been lied to and hurt one too many times which has caused her to have few she has complete trust in. As a result of these factors, along with some deep feelings of insecurity and low self-worth, Ches has difficulties with talking to and getting acquainted with others she doesn’t already know and feel comfortable with. If you stick around long enough for her to get to a certain level of comfort with you, however, you’ll make a tremendously loyal friend. She is extremely protective of those she cares for and will always jump to their defense without a moment of hesitation.
She is admittedly a bit of a skeptic about things, which sometimes stems from the previously stated trust issues. She doesn’t always tend to believe in much that doesn’t have solid evidence behind it. This plays a bit of a role in a large variety of things, though mainly in her religious views. Ches considers herself to be Atheist Agnostic, if anything. She believes in the possibility of something, but doesn’t find it exceedingly likely. She is incredibly respectful of others’ beliefs however and has a number of friends with differing views.
She has a bit of an anger management issue. She is pretty chill ninety-five percent of the time, but sometimes the littlest things can really set Ches off. She gets really annoyed and really aggravated really fast. She's thrown her mouse at her computer and shattered the screen before because of slow internet issues, and she’s shredded various things and thrown objects at walls because she couldn’t get a paw or eye or ear drawn correctly. (Note here that she doesn't draw anymore but has instead an increased interest in photography.) Though it sounds intimidating and can make you second guess wanting to be a friend of hers, there’s no need to worry about you getting hurt in the crossfires. It’s always inanimate objects that get the abuse. That could only have a chance at changing if you’ve personally purposefully done something to harm her or those she cares for in some way. Although to this day she has never actually laid a hand on anyone, as I stated a while back, Ches is fiercely protective of those she loves. It would be in one’s best interest to remember that.
She cannot stand someone having authority over her and absolutely hates being told what to do. (Note that this does not necessarily apply in a workplace setting of course.) She deals with it when she has to but does get very visibly annoyed by it. Ches often becomes very argumentative and gives smart ass or sarcastic replies in such situations. Usually she’ll suck it up and do as she’s told, though typically after there’s been a good bit of complaining and grumbling about it. Part of that resistance to authority can probably be contributed to her slight superiority complex. It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It’s a fairly minor issue of hers, but it does contribute at times to her arrogance and how she acts towards others. She’s working to improve on this.
With as comedic, sarcastic, and generally happy as Ches appears to be, you probably wouldn’t guess that she struggles with depression from time to time. Originally, this stemmed from a variety of events occurring throughout her life. Now, nothing in particular specifically seems to trigger the miserable feelings and gloomy mood she sometimes experiences. These feelings come randomly. She may have had an amazing day leading up to it and been just incredibly happy moments before. She’s self-diagnosed herself with Bipolar Depression Disorder, but has yet to see a professional Psychiatrist on whether it's actually that or something more.
As far as her intelligence is concerned, Ches is pretty bright and has a fairly high IQ. It’s not at genius level or anything like that, but Ches is definitely quite clever and very observant. She is currently studying Photography and minoring in Psychology. As bright as she is, she has been having issues with concentrating in class and staying motivated. This has contributed to exceedingly low grades throughout her college career and she is currently taking a break from schooling until she can, well, get her shit together essentially. She continues to practice and study Photography outside of a school setting, however.
As for her habits and how she spends her days outside of work, there are a variety of things she likes to do. More often than not, she’s gaming or playing with her camera. She loves video games. She prefers PS4 above all else but also sometimes plays the Wii U, her 3DS, and PC games. She loves games like Skyrim, The Witcher, Tomb Raider, Dragon Age, and The Legend of Zelda. Her current favorite is Horizon Zero Dawn. When she’s not chest deep in video games, she enjoys a good book now and then. She loves George R. R. Martin’s books. She recently started reading A Game of Thrones from the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Ches absolutely loves the show and figured it was about time she read the series. TV shows are another thing that takes up a good bit of her time. Her favorites include Game of Thrones, The 100, and Reign. She never misses an episode and of course binges them on Netflix.
